GAGASAN PLURALISME AGAMA GUS DUR UNTUK KESETARAAN DAN KERUKUNAN

This article focuses on framing the thought of  Abdurrahman Wahid on reli- gious pluralism. Gus Dur-his familiar name, is a figure of the Muslim scholars, clerics, and also a politician who has a considerable influence in the national life in Indonesia. The idea of religious pluralism was offered by Gus Dur calls for recognition of the equal right to claim the truth of any religion by its followers, respectively. For Gus Dur difference faith/theology should not affect the enforce- ment of  justice. Ever y religion should receive equal treatment before the law; hence neither group feels superior to the other.The author argues that the research on the views of  Gus Dur is ver y important to see what is meant by religious pluralism. From this study we can also see the mapping of  what Gus Dur strug gled in upholding religious pluralism. By using critical-thinking approach, Gus Dur’s tought will be dissected to obtain a com- prehensive understanding of  the globalizing thought of  Gus Dur which covering various aspects of life, not only limited in political issues, the relationship be- tween religion and the state as well as inter-religious relations. The result can be described that there are three focuses of  Wahid fought in the religious pluralism, namely equality of religions, tolerance and interfaith and inter-religious dialog

Islamic Organizations in North Sumatra A Historical Analysis on Newspaper Publication in 1915-1942

Newspapers are an important historical source in a historical writing that contains information about past events. Information about Islamic organizations in its activities in North Sumatra is found in newspapers from 1915 to 1942, considering that Islamic organizations have a long struggle in Indonesian history because it has contributed to the dynamics of Indonesian politics. The purpose of this paper is to track the progression of Islamic organizations in North Sumatra and its activities in various aspects based on newspapers ever published in North Sumatra in 1915-1942. The method used is the historical method with social history approach. Information had been obtained in a number of newspapers including the activities of several Islamic organizations in North Sumatra from the aspects of politics, education, social, and economics. The conclusion is Islamic organizations had contributions as the embryo of the independence movement of Indonesia, but some of them were still have not been highlighted in the tradition of Indonesian historiography. These findings support that some Islamic organizations in Indonesia should be more highlighted in the historical writings in Indonesia

Representasi Film Dystopia dan Proyeksi Akhir Zaman Perspektif Syekh Yusuf Qardhawi

This study aims to analyze the representation of dystopian films and their projections towards the end of time based on Yusuf Qardhawi's perspective. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using reference tracing. The search results are analyzed based on the perspective of Sheikh Yusuf Qadhawi regarding the future and the end of time. The results of this study indicate that there is a close relationship between dystopian film representations and Syech Yusuf Qardawi's view of the end of time. These two things both show fear of the future and major changes that will occur in the future. Furthermore, dystopia films and Syech Yusuf Qardawi's views can complement each other in dealing with fears of the future and preparing for the big changes that are happening in the world At the moment
